Positive Thinking Tactics

Mahatma Gandhi once said, “A man is but the product of his thoughts, what he thinks, he becomes.” Taking that idea into consideration, when we think thoughts of failure, don’t we end up demoralized, helpless and, in effect, fail by doing so? And when we aspire for more, believe that we cannot be bound; do we not turn out to be ordinary individuals doing extraordinary things?

Why Bother?

What we feel, believe and know rest in what we think. Though sometimes you feel helpless, you’re very much in control of yourself. It is our choice of which state we’d like to fall into. A lot of times, it’s just about the attitude. In life, intelligence or talent can only get you so far. If you’re pessimistic, sooner or later, the negativity would get the better of you and whatever gift you have would be put to waste. However, with positive thinking or the right attitude, you’ll find yourself tackling whatever life throws at you regardless of your smarts or abilities. In school, it’s about the grades but you won’t get the grades without the right attitude. In the real world, you get the job with what you’ve done with school but what keeps you there is the E.Q. and where do we attribute that? It’s thanks to positive thinking as well.

The Tactic

To get along well with positive thinking you have to take certain steps. First of which is to commit. Give yourself to it. Bring the optimism in everything you do. Don’t split yourself and put fifty percent into family and fifty percent into everything else, because what is fifty percent? It is mediocrity. Go beyond. Excel with optimism by practicing it.

Next, you have to know you’re in control. Structure your life. Don’t believe that life is a result of everything just changing as you wait for it all to affect you. Take life and make it yours. Don’t let chaos reign within you.

Finally, challenge yourself. Winston Churchill once said that “the pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” Be realistic. Know you won’t have the best mindset overnight but believe and take steps to embrace positive thinking. Take opportunities to better yourself and instead of criticizing yourself, take the chance to better yourself instead.

How you want your life to be is in your hands. We have no control over everything, but we do have control over ourselves. Nothing can limit us but ourselves. Think positive, commit to thinking positive and challenge yourself to improve yourself. Upon achieving the right mindset, everything else would follow.

“Overcoming Obsessive Compulsive Negative Thinking Disorder”

Do negative thoughts ever just creep up on you, catching you unaware, and suddenly you just can’t help but thinking about it over and over again? When you get into a situation, do ever just think that you’re just going to fail no matter what you do? Do you ever think that there are things that you just can’t do, and that you can never measure up? Are there times where you continually think about all the bad things in life and how nothing ever goes your way? If you said yes to any of that, you may just have obsessive compulsive negative thinking disorder. It is a disorder wherein you just can’t help but think negative thoughts.

Overcoming obsessive compulsive negative thinking disorder is not that hard. Understand that you just can’t stop thinking about it; the best thing to do is to replace these thoughts with something positive. Not thinking about it will only cause you to obsess about it more and more. So you have to replace these thoughts with something healthier, something that will help you to become a happier person. You see, the key to overcoming obsessive compulsive negative thinking disorder is to start thinking about something happier, better and more positive.

So, how do you this? Whenever you catch yourself thinking something negative, answer back with something positive. For example you think that you’re going to fail a test, so what do you do? You start thinking, I may not fail. I may actually do well. In fact, I know I can pass and even ace this test. At first, it may be challenging to change the way you think but over time and with practice, it just becomes easier and easier until it comes to a point that you don’t even have to think about it so much. It now becomes something automatic, something that just comes to you naturally.

Overcoming obsessive compulsive negative thinking disorder can make it possible for you to become someone better. It is a chance to start seeing the world in a new light and believing that there is always a silver lining to every cloud. Once you start thinking positively, better things start coming to you and before you know it, you are now where you want to be. You have already attained your goals and you are now happy. In fact, you may even forget that you ever had obsessive compulsive negative thinking disorder.

Obsessive Thinking Disorder – The Trap and Its Treatment

Obsessive thinking disorder is a form of obsessive compulsive disorder that lacks the compulsive actions. Instead, it focuses on the half of the anxiety disorder that focuses on the enslaving thoughts. Usually, you’d find yourself fretting more than the average person about irrational fears with this disorder and this disorder doesn’t choose just certain people like common diseases. It can fall on anyone regardless of their race or sex. Do you have it? Do you know someone who could possibly have it? What do you do with it?

The Phenomenon

Most of the time obsessive thinking disorder is actually a fear of not knowing, not being in control, or of uncertainty. Not knowing what you’re afraid of or worrying about is actually what separates anxiety from fear. Though worrying about the unknown is quite normal, you can always overdo it and that’s when it gets pretty bad.

With obsessive thinking disorder, the nasty habit can either lay its roots on you as a child, adolescent or in your early adult years. You think too much, your ideas come in an unstoppable gush, running over and over about different persons, situations or feelings. Some consider it as a coping mechanism for emotional stress but it is quite a destructive one as you just feed your anxiety and help it get further along within you. As you feed your anxiety, it will give birth to bad feelings and these bad feelings only feed your anxiety more. It becomes a destructive cycle that must be stopped.

Wouldn’t you get annoyed when you hear a nagging voice at your ear? This is the part where you may or may not fill the whole description of obsessive compulsive disorder because with the nagging voice, you may feel compelled to perform certain routines to help curb the exhausting thoughts. However, such actions can only do as much as curb and not free you from all the obsessive thinking. The delineating factor between normal anxiety and destructive cyclic anxiety isn’t hard to spot. When the thinking gets to a point where it gets in the way of you performing your day to day activities, then you need help. From excessive fear of making mistakes, rejection, and embarrassment to excessive doubt and paranoia, those are little warning signs that something might be up.

Treatment

When diagnosed with obsessive thinking disorder, if it’s severe it may require medication to help cope with the condition. Until the true cause of your detrimental thoughts is identified and confronted, it will help with the treatment. Such a disorder would not be cured overnight but is possible to resolve.

Medication is but an aid to make the treatment easier. It takes a commitment to break the cycle and form a new one that perpetuates a positive effect in its place. Defy the disorder. Know that you can.

Obsessive Compulsive Negative Thoughts? Oh No You Don’t!

Obsessive compulsive negative thoughts take off from OCD, or Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It’s pretty much the same minus the compulsive action part. There are some who find obsessive thinking to be a way of life while others lost themselves to it. Certain thoughts can stay in your mind and become a dull, repetitive buzz that you can’t block out. Learn about it and do what it takes to tame or control your thoughts.

Any Fancy Equipment?

Wanting to curb the obsessive compulsive negative thoughts is the first step. You are aware that there is something wrong and you want to take steps to take care of it and that’s good. Other than that all you need is discipline with yourself and sufficient will. Without discipline, you can find that you would fail early on as you give into the destruction. Without will, the process of putting an end to these obsessive compulsive negative thoughts won’t even start at all. There is no magic equipment or anything you can order on infomercials or the internet. It really is all you and no one else can do anything to change how you think unless you let them or want to.

Let’s Do It!

As mentioned, being aware and wanting to curb the obsessive thinking is the first step to all this. You are more or less aware that your thoughts are getting overwhelming. When you do feel that your thoughts are getting overwhelming, stop to take a closer look at just how your thoughts flow.

Take note of your thoughts; you’d be astonished if and when you see that it happens quite often. Observe if thinking with a pessimistic air has turned into an obsession and that you have been doing so for quite some time now. Reflect. Are these obsessive negative thoughts true or are they simply baseless?

Next, try turning everything off. With obsessive compulsive negative thoughts, you’d want to take things down a notch; otherwise it would be hard to deal with. Remember, with this disorder comes much doubting or checking things over and over and recheck things repeatedly too. It’s quite overwhelming.

Also, know that you won’t be an overnight success story. Be realistic but try to be positive all the same. Pretty soon thinking positive would be your habit instead of the pessimistic old one. If you know of any negative thought triggers, stay away from them. Keep straight, follow through and you can do it.

Obsessive compulsive negative thoughts can either be an endless stream of negative or positive thoughts. Have patience and strong will. Know when it’s happening and stop it in its tracks. You are in control. Put that control into good use.

A fact is that negative thinking causes stress. Stress that is not healthy for you so cure to negative thinking is a must. Yes, you cannot avoid thinking negatively. Every now and then pessimism hits you. But you can combat this by immediately acting to these negative thoughts. Here are some ways on how to cure negative thinking.
Old habits die hard and irrational thinking dies harder. If you somehow get used to negative thinking it becomes a habit and worse it would be harder to cure. Trusting in yourself and in the abilities that you can do is a start on how to cure negative thinking.
Do not fight the urge of thinking negatively but change the way you think into a positive one. This is called constructive thinking. In constructive thinking you get to self- talk your way into thinking that you can do it. Tell yourself – “Yes, I can. Yes, I can” over and over. If you encounter a situation that you are in doubt of yourself cognitive reconstruction may help you in dealing with the problem. Because it motivates you to act upon it and solve it with methods you are familiar with.
In cases that it gets hard to self- talk your way out of negative thinking, you will need to relax your mind. Start to breathe deeply and slowly to get more oxygen into your brain to help you think better and calm yourself from hyperventilation. Once you have calmed down, ask yourself questions that can help you clear out negative thoughts. Like, “what is the best thing to do?” if you encounter situational problems. Asking yourself questions that will make you act upon a situation will most likely make you do things to deal with that certain situation.
Since negative thinking disrupts the way you perform, be sure to have a support system. People, who you can run to in times of doubt and mischief, can help you surpass your dilemma. They can give you advices that you can take into consideration. They can even encourage you to think positively. Choosing the right people to turn to is important.

That person must be trusted and know you well so that you can be reassured that he or she will really help you.
Getting to cure negative thinking is easier said than done. If you think that your case is getting worse, you might want to consult someone to counsel you. Counselling may help you recognize the reason of your negative thinking. A counsellor may even help you cure negative thinking through cognitive reconstruction or cognitive behavioural therapy.
There are actually no prescriptions for negative thinking. Changing the way you think and motivating yourself to change is the cure. On how to cure negative thinking all lies in your head.

How to Change Negative Thinking into Positive Thinking with Self-talk

Have you ever been through times where an endless flow of buzzing chatter just nags at you in your mind? If it were someone else, it would be pointless to try and understand it, but you can. You understand what that gush of thoughts is saying because it all comes from within you.

That voice in your head, the internal judge, when you either war or contemplate with yourself is self-talk. You either you let it nag away and bring you down, or you can use it to psych yourself up and let it help you face life’s challenges head on. What is the secret? What is the power? How do you learn how to change negative thinking into positive thinking?

The Power

It may be a “duh” worthy statement but we do fail to realize that the types of thoughts we think more or less act as a precursor of what mood we’ll be in. If you think sad or mad thoughts, then you feel such. When you think happy, it isn’t very hard to be. This is the idea behind the concept of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Think you’ll fail, and you probably will as you feel working towards your goal as pointless. However, if you think you succeed, your chances of doing so go up.

Spotting Destruction

With learning how to change negative thinking into positive thinking, you should know what it is you do with your thoughts that aren’t so helpful. There are many forms of negative self-talk, one of which is a classic one – anticipating the worse. Though there is a saying which tells us to “prepare for the worst and hope for the best,” make sure you fulfill both parts of the deal and not take sides. Another would be seeing things in absolutes. You’re either successful or a roaring failure, good or bad with no gray areas. Blaming yourself is also a bad thinking habit. Finally, there’s the mentality where you filter everything and focus on the negative and disregard the positive. Try your best to veer away from these types of thoughts

The Change Tips

And now we have the main event – how to change negative thinking into positive thinking. This is a fairly simple task; you just have to be committed to following this practice and make a habit out of it. First, stop to take a more objective look at just what you’re thinking about. Try to see the good in things or even challenge yourself to. In line with that, why not see humor in something day to day despite the hard times. This would surely leave you feeling less stressed. Last, live a good life in body, company and mind. Eat well and exercise to, surround yourself with positive people and let it rub on you, and practice positive self-talk.

Changing from negative to positive thinking doesn’t happen overnight. It takes practice. Never lose hope or heart. Take this challenge and learn from it well.

“How Positive Thinking Affirmations Can Transform You”

Anyone who has ever watched Oprah knows about the power of positive thinking and how positive thinking affirmations can transform you. All the latest books and talk shows have been talking about it and somehow we always hear it wherever we are. Positive thinking can change your world, your life and you yourself. Positive thinking holds even more promises and the people who believe in its power make it all the more alluring and tempting. It is the answer to so many questions and mysteries. It is the secret to happiness and the easiest way to succeed in life while still having time to smell the roses along your path to your goals.

So, let us find out how positive thinking affirmations can transform you. When the world has turned against you, you have no one else to lean on and to believe in but yourself. You have to learn to be independent and confident in what you do and what you can do. When you are able to gain self-confidence and you know how strong you are, you learn to believe in yourself. You become more attuned to your abilities, your values and your perspectives. When you achieve this self-awareness, you learn to love every single part of you.

Loving yourself has always been said to be the first step before you can love other people but though it has not been said so much, loving yourself is also the first step to make people love you. You start to radiate confidence and love when this happens. The people around you can’t help but just to like you and wish you the best in life. When you show that you have confidence in what you do and that you love every moment of it, the people just start to believe and you. This will open so many doors for you, whether it be in your love life, career or whatever you pursue.

These opportunities pop up in your life when you believe in what you do with all your heart and they just keep on coming. You will succeed because you believe that you will. You have to reiterate it to yourself that you can and you will. Make it your mantra. Say it everyday until you stop saying it with your mind and mouth and start saying it with your heart and soul. Before you know it, you have achieved the goal you have set.

This is how positive thinking affirmations can transform you. It changes and molds you into a person who can reach any star in the sky and still keep your feet on the ground. It makes you a person everyone wants to be around with. It makes you happy just by being yourself.

“Harnessing the Power of Positive Thinking”

“There is little difference in people, but that little difference makes a big difference. The little difference is attitude. The big difference is whether it is positive or negative.”
~W. Clement Stone

When you master the art of harnessing the power of positive thinking, you can achieve wonders in your life. Believe that when you begin thinking positively, positive results also await you. Like bees to honey, people will be drawn to you and the unmistakable aura of happiness and goodness that surrounds you. Career opportunities will begin to reveal themselves to you and lead you to the path to success.

“The positive thinker sees the invisible, feels the intangible, and achieves the impossible.”
~Anonymous

Harnessing the power of positive thinking requires you to practice positive thinking as much as you can and apply it in everything that you do. Start by making a list of all your goals in life. Make the list as visual and concrete as possible by adding photos and whatever else that can help you make those goals to be as realistic as possible.

For example, you can add a picture of where you want to get married, add the fabric you want for your dress, pictures of flowers and even a picture of your dream guy. Have fun with it and be as creative as possible. You can even add more stuff whenever you feel like it. You should own these thoughts and goals so you can make them your reality.

Create a mantra for these goals and repeat them to yourself everyday in front of your mirror. Make sure that you honestly believe in these words or else, they would be just a bunch of words without meaning. You have to choose which words will motivate you more. Assure yourself daily that you have what it takes to achieve your dreams.

Having a positive mental attitude involves having a healthy body and a healthy mind. Exercise, chill and relax. You should have fun even when you’re having a stressful week at work or whatever. Look and appreciate all the wonderful things that life has to offer. There are so many things out there that often go overlooked but they are just so beautiful and they can bring so much happiness if only they were noticed. Harnessing the power of positive thinking can show you these things and you will notice that you will feel lighter and happier with every day.

A friend of mine has been attending a regular meditation class for a few years and occasionally I ask him how it’s going. He usually says that he finds it beneficial and helps his concentration and general well-being. I had sort of been meaning to actually ask him to take me along to a session for some time, especially a the guy who runs it is a very old musical acquaintance of mine and has just been ordained (if that’s the right word) as a Buddhist monk.

So this week I made the decision to go and find out what it was all about. Now the fact that he’s a buddhist is neither here nor there as far as the mechanics of any type of meditation process is concerned, it’s just that this class happens to be run along those lines. There are many different types of meditation that you can do, so don’t think there has to be a certain religion/philoshophy/belief system attached to it in order to practice it.

We all sat on black mats and small cushions or actual kneeling stools to start with and got comfortable. Once in position everyone closed their eyes and the monk rang a pair of small chimes three times. I wasn’t sure what this was about but assumed it was to signal you to “begin”. Then the monk gave us a few directions as to how to get ourselves into the correct meditative state. He told us to concentrate on our breathing. gentle rise and fall of the stomach and the entry and exit of our breath. He said that our thoughts may drift away from this concentration but to accept this and gently bring the thought back to our breathing.

Then silence for what seemed like a long time. My right foot started to go to sleep and I had to do a bit of shifting about. There were various distractions outside and inside the room but you had to divorce them from what was going on internally. The chimes were rung again and we slowly “came out” of our meditation. The monk read a short piece from a zen psychotherapy book, which was interesting, and we then resumed for another meditation session. This time I knelt on the cushion and was a bit more comfortable. When the session finished and we packed the bits and pieces away and my first real meditation experience was over.

So what did I make of it? Overall I found it a very good experience. Initially it was a little uncomfortable and you did find you thoughts wandering all over the place. Apparently this diminishes with practice and is the hardest thing to overcome for beginners. After the first session I did seem more relaxed in mind, less so in body, and after the second session felt the other way round as if my mind had “overdone it” a bit. I guess if you are new to this the periods of silence can seem very long as they are 20-30 minutes each.

But the next day I definitely felt a positive difference in mood and general calmness. I am fairly convinced it must have been to do with the meditation but it’s hard to say after only doing it once. I will be going again as I suspect that meditation is something that you need to learn to get maximum benefit from, and is a life long pursuit. I certainly felt more positive the following day so really cannot see any downside to practicing it-it can only do you good if done regularly. Give it a try!

Compulsive Thinking Disorder – Fight It!

It happens again and again and again. Your thoughts just seem to revolve around the same things time and time again. It’s consuming you, slowly. You try to sleep but you can’t. There’s a buzzing, a nagging, an annoying voice in your head that won’t give you peace. It haunts you. You can’t get anything done. You know it has to stop. This, my friend, is the manifestation of the compulsive thinking disorder.

I’ll Never Get over It

Getting over the compulsive thinking disorder is a task with difficulty that’s equivalent to its severity. A few worrisome thoughts are acceptable and very much normal. Having thoughts that seem to take over your life however, letting it stop you in your tracks instead of moving steadily forward is highly unhealthy. It’s really bad if you let it drag you to the past and keep you there.

If you really think about it, it would be easy to conquer this disorder. You just really have to want it and you must be willing to commit to beating it because there’s a simple solution that can pose to be very difficult if you go on about it with the ways of a compulsive thinking disorder. What is it? It’s just to focus on positive thoughts and believe in them. Try hard to bring yourself peace. But again, of course, everything’s easier said than done especially with a stubborn attitude born from this disorder.

Oh Yeah? So what’s the Plan?

The best plan you could have to defeat compulsive thinking disorder is to try to kill every negative thought as soon as it comes. When you notice that your thoughts are starting to get sour, go for a positive rebuttal. You can think, “I’m not going to have any fun at the party” then go “but then again my friends are there so it’ll be okay. In fact, it can be more than okay.” It may be hard to do at first from its sheer unfamiliarity and how it’s so opposite to what you’re used to, but like wit all skills, all you need is a bit of practice. Do yourself a favor and don’t lose heart with this one. The more you do it, the easier it gets and the more it’d seem like an automatic reflex.

Beating compulsive thinking disorder is your chance not just to better your mood or yourself as a person, but it can better your life in general. Soon you’d find things looking up your way and that you’re getting to places you want to be in life. Get out of the shadows, see life in a whole new light.
